Product Info

AeroShell Grease 22 is a general purpose synthetic grease for aircraft, made from a synthetic hydrocarbon oil and clay thickener with additives for oxidation and corrosion resistance, anti-wear and load carrying. It is recommended for severe operating conditions such as high bearing loads, high speeds and a wide temperature range, and where long grease retention and high resistance to water washout are required.

  • Applications include aircraft wheel bearings, engine accessories, control systems, actuators, screw-jacks, servo mechanisms and electric motors
  • Also used on helicopter rotor bearings, instruments, airframe lubrication, hinge pins, static joints and landing gear
  • Water washout at 41°C: 2.0% typical (ASTM D1264)
  • Anti-friction bearing performance at 177°C: over 400 hours typical (ASTM D3336)
  • Load carrying capacity: 40 kg typical (ASTM D2596)
  • Do not use in contact with incompatible seal materials
