A fast and simple way to clamp sheets together for test fitting, welding, drilling, or riveting.

This 25-pack of 1/8″ Clecos is an essential addition to any metalworking setup. In the world of sheet metal construction, there are countless tools available, some are optional, but Clecos are essential. Whether you're shaping a panel, performing a repair, or building from scratch, the ability to consistently test fit components is crucial. Clecos make this process simple by allowing you to repeatedly position and remove panels with speed and precision.

A Cleco pin is a spring-loaded fastener that fits into a pre-drilled hole, clamping two metal sheets tightly together. It acts like a temporary rivet, holding the material in place while fitting or repositioning work is done. Clecos can be quickly removed and reinstalled as needed to keep the panels aligned throughout the process. These fasteners are installed and removed using a dedicated pair of Cleco pliers (sold separately)—a handy tool you’ll find yourself using frequently.

How to Use

  1. Position the panels - Place one panel over the other in the desired position where you want to join them.
  2. Drill the hole - At each fastening point, drill through both panels using a 1/8″ (3.2mm) drill bit.
  3. Load the cleco into pliers - Squeeze the Cleco pliers to compress a cleco fastener (Pliers sold separately).
  4. Insert the cleco - While holding the pliers compressed, insert the cleco into the drilled hole, then release the pliers so the fastener locks in place.
  5. Repeat along the joint - Continue drilling and inserting clecos at the required spacing until the panels are secured.
  6. Remove when finished - To remove, use the pliers to compress the cleco and pull it out of the hole.
