Lycoming 72566 is a 12/14 pitch starter ring gear. Lycoming lists it for the O-540-B, -E and -G series engines (standard cylinder flange models, parts catalogue PC-115-2) and for the O-540-F1B5 (O-540-F1B5 Illustrated Parts Catalog, June 2025). It is the ring gear only; the starter ring gear support assembly is a separate part.

Match the gear tooth pitch to the support assembly part number: Lycoming Service Instruction 1141A, Table 1, lists which supports use 12/14 pitch and which use 10/12
Service Instruction 1141A gives the field replacement procedure: heat the new gear to approximately 450°F (232°C) and fit it with the tooth chamfer upward
